Why did I choose my major?
Growing up, I had various ideas about what career path to choose in the future. When I was 11 years old I wanted to be a musician, so my mother bought me a keyboard and as I learned to play, I realized it was more of a hobby than a passion. When I was 13 years old, I wanted to join the PDI to be able to investigate and solve crimes, like Horatio Caine did in the series CSI: Miami, but I did not meet the necessary requirements to enter, and I desist.
Later, during high school I wanted to be a lawyer, because I liked to talk and justice, so I had the idea that by helping people by solving their cases I could make the country more just, although it was a bit of a fanciful idea. However, some time later I became interested in the area of Psychology, which made me very confused about which career to choose, for that reason I began to research a lot about both careers, until I found out about all the areas of specialization that Psychology has, among them Juridic Psychology, which I considered as a way to unite what I liked about both careers.
Finally, I decided to study Psychology, specifically at the University of Chile, because it is one of the few universities that covers all the areas of specialization of that career. Although I did not imagine that my first year of university would be with online classes, I have liked the experience and the courses I have had so far, which makes me very happy about the choice I made.
