A Photo and its story
I love to take pictures of my friends, my family, landscapes and my cats above all. I also like to look at photographs on the internet about landscapes, cities, animals and natural phenomena, but I don't have much knowledge about professional photographers, especially those who have won awards worldwide.
So when I came across the work of Italian photographer Roksolyana Hilevych, I must admit that I fell in love with her photograph called "Dragon Eggs". A beautiful image composed of 3 photographs that were taken on March 9, 2019, in the Lofoten Islands in Norway.
This photograph shows in all its splendor a starry sky along with one of the most desired spectacles of nature to observe by photography lovers, the northern lights. They are accompanied by a huge snow-capped mountain on the shores of an icy and brittle sea.
What I like about Roksolyana's work is that a single image manages to show in a magical way a cold night illuminated by blue and green lights, as if they were spirits dancing in harmony to give life to that place. It also reflects the different expressions of nature: the fragility of an icy esplanade that breaks like an egg, the imposing of the voluminous mountain and the delicacy of the small ice flakes that decorate it from the top.
