Blog 6: English language challenges
I consider that my experience learning English at the University of Chile has been good, mainly because the teachers are willing to solve doubts, and also in the classes they constantly motivate us to speak in English and to pronounce new words, no matter if we make mistakes. In addition, the blogs were a nice activity to do, and I enjoyed writing the information requested. I also enjoyed visiting the blogs of the other classmates because it was very interesting to read what everyone wrote on your blogs.
On the other hand, I consider that my biggest weaknesses in English are pronunciations and my poor English vocabulary. This is because I often forget how to pronounce some words, or I simply do not know how to do it, which makes me insecure when I have to speak. Also, not having great knowledge of the phrases commonly used in that dialect, I find it difficult to understand native audios and read texts in English. Therefore, it is necessary for me to start learning new words, their meaning, and pronunciation to overcome my English problems.
In spite of that, I don't use English much in my daily life, the only instances are when I listen to songs in that language, since I pay attention to what is being said, look for the lyrics and start translating them, so that when I listen to them again I know what is being said in each verse. Also, I have started to read comics in an application, which are in several languages, including English, which I have used to practice my reading skills and also enrich my vocabulary with new words that I acquire from those comics that I like.
